Struggling to find work due to a lack of transportation and experience, Damien was determined to build a better future for himself. Working closely with his consultant at BUSY Ability, he was soon offered a life-changing opportunity to join a construction business. This full-time, permanent role will allow Damien to improve his living conditions and forge a better future for himself.
To overcome Damien’s lack of transport, through funding from the Australian Government’s Workforce Australia Employment Services, BUSY Ability were able to provide him with an e-scooter. In addition, he was also provided the correct PPE wear required to perform in his new role. This solution allowed Damien to focus on what mattered most—working hard and performing well in his role.
Damien has quickly proved his value as a team player and is now operating heavy machinery, including a bobcat and excavator.
