Workforce Australia Employment Services

Specialist Employment Services

Everyone deserves the opportunity
to build a better future

If you have a prior conviction or are exiting the justice system, we are in your corner, assisting you with your present and future employment goals.

Through a dedicated team of professionals, we provide the support you need to find employment and get on track. We can assist you with skills training, job applications, connections to hiring employers - and ongoing support once you are in your new role.

Four steps to your new career

Step one

If you're looking for work and have been impacted by the justice system, we can help! Get in touch with us today to discuss your eligibility and how to join Workforce Australia Specialist Employment Services.

Step two

If you are eligible for Workforce Australia Specialist Services, you'll meet your BUSY Ability Employment Consultant. This is your chance to discuss your interests, aspirations and barriers to employment.

Step three

You’ll begin to have regular meetings with your BUSY Ability representative. Together we’ll create an employment plan, update your resume, identify and complete any skills training required, connect with hiring employers and apply for jobs that are the right fit for you.

Step four

Once you secure your new position, we will be there to provide post placement support to help you thrive. We can also provide assistance to your employer with accessing any available funding to help you purchase clothes, tools, further training or any equipment you may need to excel in your new role.

Helping people in the justice system find employment

BUSY Ability is a proud provider of the Workforce Australia Specialist Employment Services, an employment service for people with a lived experience of the justice system.

We understand that looking for a job can be challenging if you have a prior conviction. That’s why we offer step-by-step support to those who are willing, able and ready to find work. BUSY Ability provides individualised support for people who need extra assistance to re-enter the workforce by way of training, mentoring and support plus open employment opportunities from a range of industries and locations.

We work with leading specialists, community organisations, MARA Project, CREST providers, community corrections, and Queensland Correctional Services to help people transition from prison into sustainable employment and training.

As a part of The BUSY Group, we can provide job seekers with a range of services that include health (psychological and occupational therapy), apprenticeships and traineeships, education and training and, most importantly, a one-on-one, personalised approach to support your individual goals.

Our support doesn’t stop once you start your new job! Your Employment Consultant will keep in touch and continue to provide guidance and ensure you have all the tools needed to succeed. We can also provide assistance to your employer with accessing any available funding to help you purchase clothes, tools, further training or any equipment you may need in your new role.
